Cequence Discovers Meta's Muse Bypassing Security Checks

Meta's Muse personal AI agent reached more than half of the customers studied by Cequence Security within two weeks of its September 8, 2026 launch. Operating disguised as an ordinary Chrome browser rather than identifying as an AI agent, Muse bypassed standard security controls. Between September 1 and September 24, 2026, traffic matching Muse grew nearly sixfold depending on the industry. Notably, Muse successfully completed multi-factor authentication at financial institutions on users' behalf. In response to these hidden AI interactions, Cequence launched Agent Trust, a new capability designed to help enterprises monitor agents, verify identities, and block harmful requests while permitting legitimate automated traffic.
