Yahoo Finance ·
Ryan Roslansky, the long-serving leader of Microsoft’s LinkedIn subsidiary, is set to depart the software giant at the conclusion of 2026. CEO Satya Nadella announced the departure in a memo, emphasizing that Roslansky leaves the professional networking platform in a robust financial and operational standing. Roslansky originally joined LinkedIn in 2009 as product chief, prior to Microsoft's massive $27 billion acquisition in 2016, and eventually succeeded Jeff Weiner as CEO in 2020. Under his stewardship, the platform expanded its user base from 700 million to 1.3 billion members. Beyond LinkedIn, Roslansky took on broader duties in 2025 encompassing Office, Microsoft 365 applications, and the Copilot artificial intelligence ecosystem. However, he noted in his own message to staff that leading the next phase effectively would require full-time presence in Redmond, whereas his family remains rooted in the Bay Area. Meanwhile, Microsoft shares traded 0.3 percent higher following the news announcement on Thursday afternoon.
