Uber Technologies ( NYSE:UBER ) shares rose about 2% Wednesday after the company outlined a workforce overhaul that will eliminate roughly 3,300 positions as part of an effort to simplify its corporate structure. The reductions represent about 10% of Uber's global workforce. The company also plans to reduce management positions by 20%, while cutting the number of very small teams by nearly half. Warning! Uber intends to redirect savings toward its main transportation and delivery operations, as well as its robotaxi business.
