Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business pillar, offers its technologies directly to enterprises and developers. Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code will be among the platform's technologies. Meta also hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan "CJ" Desai to lead. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg praised Desai's AI, infrastructure, commercial applications, and security expertise for constructing the new platform. Meta enters the competitive corporate AI tool market with the announcement. After the news, software companies fell Monday, although a broader market loss makes it hard to blame Meta's growth. ServiceNow (NOW) slumped 3.4%, Oracle (ORCL) 4%, and Microsoft ( NASDAQ:MSFT ) 1.3%. Software stocks like Salesforce (CRM) fell. IGV fell 0.7%. MongoDB (MDB) shares fell dramatically Monday after Desai's surprise resignation led to heavy selling. The larger vulnerability affected Meta. Its shares declined 4.5% to $717.60. The bigger question is whether Meta can transition its consumer-facing AI technology and infrastructure into an enterprise business. Microsoft has integrated Copilot into its productivity and cloud ecosystem, while Salesforce and ServiceNow are introducing AI agents to corporate customers. Meta is expressing interest in that market. Enterprise adoption of Muse and Meta's other capabilities will decide if this becomes another major business for the company or just another rival in the AI software industry.
