Microsoft introduced a new version of Copilot on Friday built around four major capabilities: Home, Code, Autopilot and Today. Citizens analyst Patrick Walravens maintained his rating and price target following the announcement. The market initially responded positively. Microsoft shares climbed 3.7% Friday to $516.17, compared with a roughly 1% gain for the S&P 500. The stock was down about 1.9% in Monday premarket trading. The Copilot expansion comes as Microsoft works to turn its massive investment in artificial intelligence into products that can deepen usage across its software ecosystem. Wall Street has increasingly focused on that opportunity. Stifel recently upgraded Microsoft to Buy, pointing to the company's potential to sustain mid-to-upper-teens revenue growth as AI adoption expands across Azure and Copilot products. Oppenheimer also raised its Microsoft price target to $570 while maintaining an Outperform rating following a meeting at the company's headquarters. Cantor Fitzgerald has an even higher $608 target, citing accelerating growth and the company's fundamentals. Microsoft shares have gained about 7% this year, trailing the roughly 13% gains for both the S&P 500 and Russell 3000 over the same period. That leaves Copilot adoption as an important part of Microsoft's next phase. The key question is whether features such as Home, Code, Autopilot and Today can translate expanding AI capabilities into greater usage and ultimately stronger revenue growth.
