SK Hynix and Micron lead AI boom, join trillion-dollar club Yahoo Finance Video and Josh Lipton Wed, May 27, 2026 at 3:34 PM CDT 000660.KS MU SNDK 005930.KS NVDA Yahoo Finance Tech Editor Dan Howley joins Host Josh Lipton on Market Domination to break down the day’s leading tech stories, including SK Hynix ( 000660.KS ) joining the Trillion-dollar club and Micron Technology ( MU ) impressive growth in 2026. SK Hynix is the latest tech company to join the trillion-dollar club. Let's take a look at the stock on AlphaSpace. You can see here for SK Hynix, listen, it's it's another day in the green here, nice pop. That is no surprise if you're in this name, if you've committed capital. I mean, look at the chart here. We can look at the year. It really looks even more dramatic year-to-date off that March 30, uh, low here. Um, and by the way, of course, this isn't just SK Hynix, this is Micron. Both joined the trillion-dollar club, just really getting a huge boost from the AI boom. Yes, it is just a fever around these memory chip names that you're seeing. It's DRAM, it's NAND, it's also HBM. That's super high-speed memory that's basically sitting around a data center GPU. The real story here is these CEOs and the CFOs of these companies, they continue to get on conference calls and what do they tell you? They tell you that demand simply continues to outstrip supply. They can't keep up. The AI demand, the AI boom has changed the equation. Investors hear that, they get excited, and they continue to pile in. For more on that and all the way tech headlines, we're calling for tech support with the Al Finance and Sujani Ali. I mean, these moves with SK Hynix, with Micron, you look at these charts, these are freak show charts. That's what technicians call them, by the way. Freak show charts. But what do you make of that? I mean, I'm looking at the the Micron one year and it's up 860%. Uh, you know, this isn't the same kind of memory. Ooh, a little mute action going on. It's dramatic. Keep it going. Um, you look at SanDisk. So there's a difference with SanDisk here, they broke off from Western Digital. Still, over the year, they're up 4,000%. That doesn't make sense uh, at all. Um, but sure, trading at $1,500 uh, a share. You know, a lot of this is just kind of, I think, uh, the uh market catching up to what AI data centers are made of. Right? So it started out with GPUs and everybody said, get into those names, right? Get into get into Nvidia. Dance around AMD, look at Broadcom. Get into those kinds of names. Then, uh, you you started hearing more about CPUs, right? So get into Intel, get stay with Nvidia. And now it's, you know, okay, well, memory is huge. And you know, look, granted, this isn't this this pop for these companies isn't something that happened in the past week. They just hit this 1 trillion-dollar milestone. Samsung hit it earlier this month. Uh, it's still May, right? Yeah. Uh, so we have these three the the three largest memory makers in the world now over a trillion dollars in valuation. This has been happening for a bit, though, right? And it's just because all of these data centers need more and more memory, and this is just going to continue to be important to them as they continue to build out globally. So this this is is going to be, you know, at least as far as the data center build-out goes, a trend that continues forward.
AI 시장 분석
SK Hynix and Micron have joined the 'trillion-dollar club' driven by the AI boom, leading explosive growth in the memory semiconductor market. Surging demand from AI data centers is outstripping supply, significantly increasing the value of high-performance memory chip manufacturers. This trend of AI-related infrastructure investment is expected to continue.
상승 영향
