Texas got the most share. America PAC spent over $248,000 to help Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton, and some $170,000 to back Maine Senator Susan Collins, and about $106,000 to back Ohio Senator Jon Husted. The sums are still minor compared to what Musk could potentially put to work. America PAC has roughly $50 million to spend and Musk has signed off on much more spending as Republicans try to hold on to Congress. The investor link is indirect but worth viewing. Federal policy has a direct impact on the fields in which Tesla and SpaceX operate, including defense and space, energy, and autonomous vehicles. Several lawmakers being backed are on committees that deal with government expenditures and oversight. That doesn't guarantee the political spending by Musk will translate into favorable policy for his firms. That does mean his influence in Washington is still very much related to the overall risk profile around both firms.
