Alphabet Inc-owned Waymo is preparing to introduce its autonomous ride-hailing operations to Toronto, aiming for its initial passenger transport in Canada by 2028. The California-headquartered enterprise received approval to join Ontario's Automated Vehicle Pilot Program, enabling preparatory steps in the region. Beginning this year, the initial phase will feature high-definition street mapping and supervised testing with safety drivers.
