Nvidia says to invest in French medical website AFP Tue, October 13, 2026 at 1:53 PM EDT 1 min read NVDA +0.33% AI chip giant Nvidia will take a minority stake in French medical website Doctolib that plans to use the technology to improve health care, its chief executive Jensen Huang said Tuesday. Doctolib is a private website that allows patients to book appointments with doctors, but has also begun to allow patients to store medical information to more easily share their records. In August it launched a research program using artificial intelligence to study the data of its 50 million users to improve navigation of the healthcare system. The amount of the planned investment was not disclosed, but Huang said at a press conference in Paris that Nvidia invested at least $8 billion in Europe last year. Doctolib chief executive Stanislas Niox-Chateau told AFP that the funds will help it speed up hiring and development of its in-house AI models that will power personal assistants for both patients and doctors, as well as help with administrative tasks. Niox-Chateau said it would use Nvidia chips to power AI models that it will be able to retain control over, as well as patient data, instead of using proprietary AI models like those offered by OpenAI or Anthropic. Doctolib was valued at 3.6 billion euros ($4.0 billion) during its last funding round earlier this year.
AI 시장 분석
Nvidia is accelerating its entry into the healthcare AI market by making a minority equity investment in the French medical platform Doctolib. Doctolib plans to develop its own AI model utilizing data from 50 million users and adopt Nvidia chips. This investment demonstrates Nvidia's continuous infrastructure expansion strategy in Europe and serves as an opportunity to expand its AI ecosystem into the healthcare sector.
상승 영향
- AI — Nvidia's investment in French medical platform Doctolib expands the application of its AI chips in healthcare, acting as a direct catalyst for chip demand and revenue growth.
- Biotech — The acceleration of proprietary AI model development utilizing medical data from 50 million users enhances healthcare service efficiency and is expected to drive growth in related healthcare technologies.
DYAX 전담 분석
Nvidia's latest investment is a strategic move to directly link the demand for its AI chips to the healthcare sector. Instead of using third-party models like OpenAI's, Doctolib will build its own medical AI assistant based on Nvidia hardware, simultaneously boosting chip sales and ecosystem dominance.
The bullish scenario is that the adoption rate of medical AI accelerates, leading to a surge in Nvidia's chip sales, while the bearish scenario is that data utilization is delayed due to strict European privacy regulations. Key indicators to watch are Doctolib's AI model launch schedule and the scale of additional AI healthcare partnerships in Europe.
