Lucid and Bolt Team Up to Launch European Robotaxi Fleet
Yahoo Finance ·
European ride-hailing leader Bolt has partnered with U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors to deploy autonomous robotaxis across major European cities. In a joint announcement on September 17, the companies revealed plans to roll out at least 25,000 autonomous Lucid vehicles using a platform expected to integrate Nvidia Hyperion technology. Bolt aims to operate approximately 100,000 driverless units across the continent by 2035. Lucid CEO Silvio Napoli highlighted that Bolt's operational reach makes them an ideal partner for scaling autonomous mobility. However, Omdia senior principal analyst Mark Fitzgerald cautioned that Europe's fragmented regulatory landscape and delays in Lucid's midsize platform could present hurdles. While the partnership reflects a strong long-term commitment, scaling the fleet to meet initial ambitions may require more time than anticipated.

DYAX 전담 분석
This collaboration serves as a significant milestone for the expansion of Lucid's software-defined vehicle platform into the European market, providing positive expectations for revenue growth in the EV and autonomous driving sectors over the medium to long term. However, the absence of binding orders and the platform schedule being delayed to the second half of 2027 are factors increasing short-term stock volatility.
The bullish scenario is the accelerated commercialization of autonomous driving, while the bearish scenario is regulatory barriers and delayed mass production. Key indicators to watch are the confirmation of Bolt's actual orders and the progress of Lucid's midsize platform development.
