Uber Technologies and British AI firm Wayve have rolled out supervised autonomous rides in London, marking the United Kingdom debut for such technology. Customers requesting UberX, Uber Electric, or Uber Comfort may be matched with a Wayve vehicle at no extra charge, with transparent pricing shown in the app. The initial deployment utilizes all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with the Wayve AI driver, featuring interactive screens in 64 languages and a trained, TfL-licensed safety driver on board.
