MN8, Google, and Eos Partner for $350M Clean Energy Initiative in West Virginia
Yahoo Finance ·
MN8 Energy, Google, and Eos Energy Enterprises have unveiled a joint clean energy initiative in West Virginia to supply the PJM grid. Backed by an estimated $350 million capital investment, the project integrates 86MW of utility-scale solar, 70MW/280MWh of lithium-ion storage, and 10MW/100MWh of Eos zinc-based long-duration energy storage. Sited on a reclaimed coal mine, the facility will power Google data centers in the area. Commercial operations for the solar component are scheduled for 2028, followed by lithium-ion storage in 2029 and long-duration storage in 2030. Google will procure all energy and capacity attributes from the facility. The development is projected to create about 200 construction jobs and generate approximately $4 million in property tax revenue for the county and local schools during its initial two decades.

DYAX 전담 분석
With a total capital investment of 350 million USD and phased commercial operations targeted from 2028 to 2030, this project will serve as a stable power source for Google's data center. In particular, as Eos's zinc-based LDES is introduced at a commercial scale for the first time, the commercialization of related technologies is expected to accelerate, leading to increased revenue for beneficiary companies.
Going forward, the smooth progress of infrastructure construction and the growth rate of data center power demand will act as key stock price determinants. Investors should closely monitor changes in order backlogs and the effects of policy support for beneficiary stocks resulting from expanded clean energy infrastructure investments.
