CEO Jensen Huang tied the move to Nvidia's cash generation, saying it gives the company room both to invest in AI and accelerated computing and to return capital to shareholders. "This authorization reflects our confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead," he said. The announcement came on the same day Nvidia launched its Open Agent Safety Platform, software and a reference design aimed at keeping AI agents within set boundaries.
