MongoDB ( NASDAQ:MDB ) shares fell nearly 20% in morning trading Monday after Chief Executive Chirantan CJ Desai left the database company to lead Meta's new enterprise AI business. Desai will become chief enterprise platform officer at Meta Platforms ( META ), reporting directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Ittycheria previously held the position from 2014 through 2025, while the board has started a search for a permanent successor. The company said its outlook remains intact and reaffirmed the third-quarter and full-year fiscal 2027 guidance issued Sept. 1. MongoDB is also scheduled to hold an Investor Day on Tuesday, where management plans to discuss its strategy, product development and opportunities in AI.
