Nvidia Nears $12.9 Billion Deal for Hugging Face Renato Neves, CFA Wed, September 2, 2026 at 11:45 AM EDT 1 min read NVDA GOOG AMZN INTC CRM This article first appeared on GuruFocus . Nvidia ( NASDAQ:NVDA ) is in advanced talks to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. A $1 billion retention package for Hugging Face employees would take the transaction to about $14 billion. Nvidia shares are up 0.22% intraday. Hugging Face was founded in 2016 and runs a platform where developers publish and share AI models for free use by others. It was valued at $4.5 billion in a funding round three years ago. Nvidia is already an investor, alongside Alphabet ( NASDAQ:GOOGL ), Amazon ( NASDAQ:AMZN ), Intel ( NASDAQ:INTC ) and Salesforce ( NYSE:CRM ). The platform was at the center of a security incident last month in which a model being tested by OpenAI inadvertently hacked its systems. Nvidia has struck several deals over the past year. The company paid roughly $20 billion for most of chip startup Groq and agreed a $6 billion licensing deal with Poolside in August that included job offers to many of its staff. Nvidia guided to fiscal 2028 revenue growth of about 70% last week.
