Amazon announced a massive hiring of over 300,000 workers in the U.S. for the upcoming holiday season, offering an average hourly wage of over 20 dollars. This move aligns with the National Retail Federation's (NRF) forecast of 1.013 trillion dollars in year-end retail sales, signaling a boost in the consumer goods and retail sectors. Investors should pay attention to the positive impact of Amazon's aggressive employment expansion and benefit investments on year-end earnings.

- Retail — A surge in labor costs, such as minimum hourly wages of 20 dollars and new healthcare packages, could pressure the short-term profitability of Amazon and other retail companies.
DYAX 전담 분석
Amazon's recruitment of 300,000 personnel and the expansion of hourly wages exceeding 20 dollars along with benefits directly reflect expectations of increased sales during the year-end spending season. This leads to the expansion of transaction values in the retail and e-commerce sectors, acting as a factor for earnings improvement in related companies.
The bullish scenario is that Amazon's sales surge due to robust year-end consumption and stock prices across the retail sector rise, while the bearish scenario is that massive labor expenditure pressures profitability. Key indicators to watch are NRF's actual year-end retail sales performance and Amazon's Q4 operating margin.
