SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tessell ( www.tessell.com ), one of the leading multi-cloud database-as-a-service (DBaaS) providers, has announced the launch of three specialized agents built leveraging Google's Gemini on Tessell's multi-cloud database platform. The announcement, showcased live by Google at Oracle AI World on Oct 28, introduces a shift toward Agentic Database Lifecycle Management for Tessell customers running complex enterprise database workloads on Google Cloud. By leveraging Gemini, the new agents transform the chat interface into an intelligent, conversational control plane. For the first time, Database Administrators (DBAs), Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), platform owners, and enterprise migration teams can manage sophisticated database engines, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, using natural language. For Google Cloud deployments, all underlying infrastructure operations automatically route to Google Cloud hardware, including memory-optimized M4/M4N Compute Engine series and Hyperdisk Extreme/Balanced storage. "The integration of our platform capabilities into a conversational framework marks a turning point for engineering teams," said Kamal Khanuja, Co-Founder, Tessell. "The Tessell Ops, Governance, and Migrate agents act as an extension of the database team, executing intricate backend workflows, from provisioning pre-approved blueprints to orchestrating complex cross-region DR failovers, through simple natural language commands. We are giving DBAs and SREs their weekends back by eliminating manual toil while keeping complete data ownership within their own VPCs and keys." Three Specialized Agents for Full Lifecycle Management The partnership introduces three distinct agents designed to handle specific operational domains: Tessell Ops Agent: Automates day-to-day database administration. It handles parameter gathering, instantiates high-availability database engines, inspects real-time service and host metrics (like CPU load and blocking sessions), and automates point-in-time recovery, vertical scaling, credential rotation, and blueprint deployment. Tessell Governance Agent: Enforces corporate compliance and security postures conversationally. The agent configures backup SLAs, disaster recovery topologies, and Customer-Managed Encryption Keys (CMEK). It also audits role-based entitlements, applies automated data-masking templates to dev/test clones, and generates compliance attestation summaries for PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 audits. Tessell Migrate Agent: Simplifies and accelerates data center exits and cloud migrations. It inventories source database estates (on-premises, AWS RDS, or VMs), calculates optimal Google Cloud target configurations, formulates step-by-step execution runbooks, and tracks automated replication pipelines with real-time in-chat metrics like CDC replication lag. It also supports seamless database engine modernization, such as re-platforming legacy Oracle SE workloads to PostgreSQL on Google Cloud. For banks, insurers, healthcare providers, and government agencies, the Governance Agent turns audit preparation and policy enforcement into a conversation, while data, keys, and access stay inside the customer's own cloud account. These agents are designed for the estates that are hardest to move and operate. Enterprise database estates, particularly those built on heavy Oracle and SQL Server systems, have historically carried intense operational loads and rigid dependencies," said Bala Kuchibhotla, Co-Founder and CEO of Tessell. "Planning a migration or rehearsing a cross-region failover used to take weeks of runbooks, tickets, and handoffs. By bringing Tessell's zero-downtime, lift-and-shine DBaaS model together with Google's Gemini, that work now starts with a conversation. And because these agents run on Tessell's multi-cloud platform, customers get one operating model across their estate, with a fast, zero-data-loss path forward to the modern cloud." The Tessell agents for Gemini will be available to enterprise preview customers starting this quarter. For more information or to request a platform demonstration, visit www.tessell.com . Tessell is the enterprise DBaaS platform that gives organizations unified control across any database engine and any cloud. Tessell's control plane, phased migration methodology, and built-in governance help enterprises migrate, manage, and modernize without disrupting what is already working. Fortune 500 companies, global banks, and government agencies, including CSX, Moody's, Citizens Bank, and Forbes, trust Tessell to keep their most critical data running, reporting 25 to 65 percent reductions in total database cost of ownership.
