Why investors should resist the rush into Meta’s Muse hype Yahoo Finance Video and Brian Sozzi Tue, September 22, 2026 at 10:29 AM EDT META Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi makes the case against chasing Meta ( META ) stock amid Muse hype and the warning signs in the company's capital expenditures next year. You see a company at $192 billion to its market cap in a day and suddenly you feel like you have to pile into meta stock because it looks like everyone else is. You are emboldened by various meta ex spending half the night hyping Mus on X and Wall Street analysts spending their nights tinkering with their earnings estimates to assume big fat profits at the hands of Muse. While Muse looks like a solid product that people are downloading in droves, I want you to remember two important points, two things. One, the thought Muse will dominate the enterprise and consumer AI market inside of six months is truly absurd. It doesn't work like that at big companies, medium-sized companies or hell even small companies. These companies have systems and software in place, and will not be upending all this to unleash muse agents in a rush manner. And for consumers, they already are having a subscription fatigue. Just ask the folks over at the Disney Plus team. Ooh. Ooh. Uh, and this brings me to point two. With more Mute success comes the likelihood of an eye popping amount of cash sucking CAPEX spend by meta next year, perhaps way more than the street is expecting. I don't apologize for tempering your enthusiasm on Muse. I'm here for you, not to add more billions to Zuck's bank account.
