Why MiniMed Stock Was Soaring This Week
Yahoo Finance ·
Highly specialized medical device maker MiniMed Group ( MMED +0.34% ) was highly prized by investors over the past few trading days. That stood to reason, as the company unveiled first-quarter fiscal 2027 results that comfortably exceeded revenue expectations. As of late Thursday evening, the company's shares were up by nearly 19% week to date, according to data compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence . MiniMed, which focuses on diabetes care, booked net sales of $843 million, up a sturdy 17% year over year. Much of this came from outside our borders, as international net sales rose by 18% to hit $603 million. That figure for the medical device company's native U.S. market was $240 million, 13% higher than the same quarter of fiscal 2026. On the bottom line, MiniMed hit breakeven, an improvement over the $19 million net loss it posted in the year-ago frame.
