Ronin Ecosystem Update

RONIN ·

Part 1: Ronin by the Numbers: Proof of Distribution is having a strong start. Season 1 saw over 410K RON distributed to builders, and showed that healthy competition between teams can lead to ecosystem growth. We’re working on shipping more discovery tools for games and apps as we’ve noticed that users are looking at the POD dashboard to discover experiences. Part 2: Honor Score and Governance are coming soon. The moment we’ve all been waiting for is almost here. A new reputation layer and an upcoming governance dashboard will soon give users a larger role in earning rewards and shaping the future of the network. Part 3: Ronin Treasury and the Road Ahead: From treasury growth to improving onchain fundamentals and major Axie ecosystem updates, the focus remains on long term value creation. Over the past few months, teams across the ecosystem have continued shipping products, refining incentive systems, and investing in infrastructure that will support Ronin for years to come. Whether it’s improving builder incentives through Proof of Distribution, introducing user reputation with Honor Score, strengthening the treasury, or preparing for governance, each initiative serves the same goal: making Ronin the gateway to crypto for everyday people. Proof of Distribution (PoD) is a new system with a clear North Star: Aligning builders’ efforts with ecosystem growth. The more builders contribute to Ronin, the more rewards they can earn via PoD. Teams who onboard new users, launch engaging apps, and create lasting value for the network take home fresh RON every month. Here’s how Season 1 went: Axie Infinity took the crown with over 97K RON in rewards, while Gas Infinity and Craft World earned about ⅓ of that. Ragnarok and Pixels also showed up strong. However, what was most interesting was how the community embraced PoD beyond its original purpose. Ronin community members began to use the PoD leaderboard as a discovery tool for new games. Why is Craft World doing so well? How can I play Ragnarok for the first time? Proof of Distribution became a tool for players and builders to keep an eye on what everyone is excited about. As a result, the Ronin ecosystem team has started exploring new ways to make that experience even better. Think richer project pages, improved discovery, community-driven features, and more. Every incentive system gets stress-tested. As expected, we saw attempts to game PoD through Sybil activity and other forms of artificial engagement. That’s part of building transparent, permissionless systems. The Ronin Ecosystem Team responded fast and made regular updates to the system, and today the PoD leaderboard reflects a more accurate picture of the projects delivering value today. Proof of Distribution aligned incentives for builders. What about users? This is where Honor comes in. Every transaction, every interaction, and every contribution tells a story about how someone participates in the Ronin ecosystem. Honor Score will bring those signals together into a unified reputation layer designed to recognize meaningful, long term participation. The objective is simple: recognize and reward the users who help Ronin grow. Honor Score will combine a variety of onchain signals to estimate each user’s contribution to the network. It will consider factors such as: Network position and ecosystem participation Rather than measuring activity alone, Honor Score aims to measure each user’s contribution to the long term value of the Ronin ecosystem. As the system evolves, Honor Score will also strengthen Proof of Distribution by replacing raw user counts with reputation weighted participation, making ecosystem incentives naturally more resistant to Sybil attacks and reward farming. More Honor means more opportunities. Every season, users will earn points based on their Honor Score, which will unlock new benefits and rewards, creating a direct incentive to participate in the ecosystem. The stronger a user’s reputation, the greater the opportunities they’ll unlock. Community governance has always been part of Ronin’s long-term vision. Today, Ronin is in a position to begin turning that vision into reality. Proof of Distribution aligned incentives for builders. Honor Score will align incentives for users. The next step is giving both groups a greater voice in how the ecosystem evolves. The first version of the Ronin Governance Dashboard is expected to launch in Q3 this year, giving the community a dedicated place to participate in shaping the future of the network. Through the dashboard, users will be able to vote on eligible initiatives that have been discussed and refined by the community, all from a single interface. Governance will gradually expand over time, beginning with ecosystem initiatives before evolving into a broader decision making framework. Future proposals may include topics such as: Like every other part of Ronin, Governance will evolve step by step as the ecosystem continues to mature. More details on proposal requirements, voting eligibility, and launch timing will be shared closer to release. With Governance and the Honor Score beginning to take shape, the Ronin Treasury is finally ready to move beyond simply accumulating assets and start playing an active role in the ecosystem’s growth. Rather than viewing it as a reserve of tokens, it’s better to think of the Ronin Treasury as a fund with exposure to the entire Ronin ecosystem. As new games launch, new protocols emerge, and new assets are introduced, the treasury has the opportunity to participate in the long term growth of everything being built on Ronin. That means the treasury allows Ronin to invest in the success of its own ecosystem. The treasury will soon receive an additional 90 million RON from the former staking reward allocation, increasing its holdings to over 100 million RON, or more than 10% of the total RON supply. With Governance, the community will gradually gain a voice in how treasury resources are allocated. With Honor Score, long term contributors will be able to redeem points for treasury assets at a discount. For the first time, the treasury will become an active participant in Ronin’s growth strategy, supporting builders, rewarding users, and creating new opportunities across the ecosystem. “Owning RON gives you exposure to Ronin. The treasury gives Ronin exposure to itself.” As the ecosystem expands, the treasury can grow alongside it by gaining exposure to the games, applications, and assets that make Ronin valuable. In turn, those assets can help fund future initiatives, strengthen ecosystem incentives, and accelerate ecosystem growth. A stronger ecosystem strengthens the treasury. A stronger treasury strengthens the ecosystem. Years after introducing millions of players to Web3 gaming, the Axie ecosystem continues to evolve, expanding beyond a single game into a growing collection of interconnected experiences. Recent updates show that momentum hasn’t slowed down, and one of the clearest signals is the Axie Treasury itself. Over the past quarter, treasury activity has accelerated significantly, largely driven by the growing role of bAXS across the ecosystem. It’s an early example of what happens when multiple experiences begin sharing the same economy instead of operating in isolation. Development of Atia’s Legacy continues to move forward through a series of community playtests, allowing players to help shape the game as it’s being built. The latest milestone was the PvP Playtest , where up to eight players competed in fast paced multiplayer battles across the world of Atia. Each playtest is another opportunity to refine gameplay, gather feedback, and build alongside the community ahead of launch. Building alongside the community has always been part of Axie’s DNA, and Atia’s Legacy reinforces that tradition. Not every Axie experience needs to be competitive. Terrariums introduces a completely different style of gameplay, transforming Axie Lands into a cozy world where players can build, customize, and grow their own unique spaces. It’s another example of how existing ecosystem assets can unlock entirely new experiences, giving land owners fresh ways to engage with their NFTs while expanding what the Axie universe has to offer. Atia’s Legacy and Terrariums are just two pieces of a much bigger roadmap. The team is already preparing the next limited time experience for the Axie community, with more details to be shared soon. Axie helped build Ronin. Today, it continues to help define what’s possible on it. Crypto is a cyclical industry, and we’re in the midst of a brutal winter. While much of the industry is waiting for headwinds, Ronin is doubling-down on the long-term health of its ecosystem. Ronin continues to outperform many larger ecosystems in the metrics that matter most, while continuing to punch above its weight in gaming. According to OpenSea, 6 of the top 15 gaming NFT collections by trading volume over the past 30 days are built on Ronin. Looking at long-term performance, 5 of the top 10 gaming NFT collections by total sales also call Ronin home. The strongest signal of a healthy ecosystem is that builders keep shipping. Across Ronin, teams continue to launch updates, expand gameplay, and experiment with new ways to bring players onchain. Angry Dynomites continues to double down on its fully onchain economy, with transaction count growing 22.1% in Q2 compared to Q1 , a strong signal of increasing player activity. Grand Arena continues exploring the intersection of AI and Web3 gaming, with new experiences already in development that push beyond traditional game design. Elsewhere across the ecosystem, builders continue to iterate at a rapid pace. Pixels is refining its gameplay loops and economic systems, while Fableborne is preparing for its highly anticipated Season 5. Sunflower Land is expanding with new content and game modes, Ragnarok Landverse Americas continues blending nostalgic MMORPG gameplay with meaningful onchain progression, and Calamity recently opened another playtest as development accelerates. From cozy farming games to AI-powered strategy, fully onchain economies, and classic MMORPGs, Ronin’s ecosystem continues to diversify with every new builder that joins. Projects like Chicken Saga , Aquarium Quest , or Gas Infinity continue adding new genres and experiences to the ecosystem, making Ronin’s gaming lineup broader than ever. Behind the scenes, more builders are preparing to launch on Ronin. More details coming soon. The last year has been one of the most challenging years we’ve experienced together. Many have grown disillusioned with crypto’s promise. Hot sectors like AI have sucked up much of the speculative capital. Through all of this, we remain steadfast in our belief that Crypto is a necessary foundational piece of the future internet. We’ve been here for 8 years now. We’ve seen multiple booms and busts. While 2026, has many similarities to 2022, which was a brutal year for the industry this also means that the opportunity of years like 2023 and 2024 shines on the horizon.
