Micron earnings beat fuels hopes for Tech rally rebound Yahoo Finance and Josh Lipton Thu, June 25, 2026 at 3:45 PM EDT NVDA DELL 0992.HK MSFT GOOGL TECHnalysis Research President Bob O'Donnell joins Josh Lipton on Market Domination to break down Micron's ( MU ) strong earnings beat and what it could mean for a broader tech rally rebound. The fact that the numbers were so big and so much higher crushed it. Just crushed it. Unbelievably crushed it, uh, tells you that, yes, you know, no one wants to acknowledge this, but we are still early innings on the AI build out, right? We are still, I think there's still several years of this AI build out. Now, it's not all going to be smooth. It's going to go up and down like all the markets have been showing recently. But the fundamental point is, you know, again, it's just basic kind of physics here, you buy the the raw pieces and then you start building the bigger things and then you sell those and those get used and that process is still continuing. And there seems to be no let up in sight. And now that they announced all these contracts that they've, you know, done for three and five years worth of of of purchases, they also have that sort of sense of guarantee there that you don't typically get, right? There's so many businesses where you can't get those kinds of of long-term contracts. But in a market that is so highly desirous of getting access to this, companies are willing to say, all right, fine, we know we need access to it. Let's just bite the bullet and pay for this. What what did you make though Bob, what Jared was just talking about, which is Mag 7, big tech hyperscalers, not working. Is that maybe investors saying, you know what, increasingly, I'm not as interested in the ones riding the big AI checks. I'm more interested in the companies benefiting from the tech. Is that perhaps what's going on? It could that could certainly be part of the issue. And again, we're in we're still sort of in that picks and shovels phase, right? So a lot of the Mag 7 are not actually doing the picks and shovels, they're doing the applications and the services, the big cloud guys, the hyperscalers, and what have you, right? But the Nvidias, I mean, Nvidia is taking a hit, but, you know, they've obviously had an unbelievably good run. Um, but the other folks, I mean, over the last couple weeks, I was at HPE Discover last week in Vegas. They, Dell, uh, Lenovo, all these guys on the hardware side have had an incredible run. Uh, Cisco, all these companies have done incredibly well building out this infrastructure. Now, how that translates into additional dollars and services for the Microsoft's, the Google's, uh, the Amazons, those are some of the pieces that I think people are waiting to see. I still think there's great opportunity there. So I still feel confident about it, but, you know, there's a lot of questions still to be answered.
AI 시장 분석
Micron(MU)'s earnings surprise is interpreted as a signal that memory demand for AI infrastructure remains robust. The company's disclosed 3~5년 long-term purchase agreements increase demand visibility and revenue stability, providing investment confidence to the related supply chain. As a result, servers, storage, networking and semiconductor equipment stocks are more likely to benefit directly. However, large hyperscale and application players such as Mag 7 may see the timing of benefits delayed or face expanded margin and CAPEX burdens.
상승 영향
- Semiconductors (Memory DRAM/NAND) — Micron's large earnings surprise and long-term purchase agreements support DRAM/NAND demand and price strength, boosting memory vendors' profits and encouraging expanded investment.
- Servers/Storage — Rising AI workloads increase replacement and expansion demand for servers and storage, lifting hardware OEM sales for Dell·HPE·Lenovo and driving data center capital goods demand.
- Network equipment (Switching/Routing) — Hyperscale and data center expansion increases demand for high-bandwidth switches and routers, leading to improved results for network equipment vendors such as Cisco.
- Semiconductor equipment & materials — Fab expansions and increased module production to support memory and server growth drive orders for semiconductor equipment and materials, directly raising equipment vendors' revenue.
하락 영향
- Hyperscale/Cloud (some Mag 7) — While long-term purchases secure infrastructure access, large cloud providers may face upfront CAPEX and higher operating costs that can pressure margins and cash flow in the short term.
- AI application chip makers (NVDA, etc.) — Players like NVIDIA face profit-taking pressure after sharp rallies and a rotation of investor positioning, creating short-term correction risk.
- Software/Services — Infrastructure expansion does not immediately translate into software and services revenue; the lag to benefit realization may slow near-term earnings improvement.
