Bureau of Labor Statistics의 발표로 인플레이션 경고가 나왔다. 5월 연간 인플레이션률이 4.2%로 3년 만의 최고치를 기록했고, 월간으로도 0.5% 이상 세 달 연속 상승했다. 이 소식에 S&P 500 (^GSPC)은 1.6% 하락했다. CPI 기준 연간 인플레이션은 1·2월에 2.4%였으며, 이는 2025년 2월에 100달러였던 상품이 2026년 2월에 102.40달러가 된다는 의미다.
