A report on June 29 had suggested Netflix could be a potential buyer, which had pinned the shares near multi-year lows. The subsequent clarification allowed investor focus to shift back to the company's fundamentals. The rebound was also supported by the rapid expansion of its ad-supported subscription tier, which reportedly drove new sign-ups higher by more than 60% in the first quarter.
