Palantir and Nvidia Bring Open AI Models Inside U.S. Government Systems Renato Neves, CFA Mon, June 29, 2026 at 1:54 PM EDT 1 min read NVDA PLTR This article first appeared on GuruFocus . Palantir Technologies ( NASDAQ:PLTR ) rose 3.85% intraday after the data analytics company announced a strategic initiative with Nvidia ( NASDAQ:NVDA ) to deploy Nemotron open models inside U.S. government agencies and critical infrastructure, where classified, air-gapped, and sensitive environments require sovereign control over AI systems. The offering combines Nvidia's Nemotron models and AI Enterprise software with Palantir's AIP, Ontology, Foundry, and Apollo platforms, giving government customers the ability to train, adapt, and post-train models on their own proprietary data without that data migrating into closed model weights. Nvidia rose 0.93% intraday. Karp said the initiative removes security risks associated with proprietary insights migrating into closed models, adding that multiple U.S. clients supporting critical infrastructure are already using Nemotron models through Palantir's platforms. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang framed open-source AI as foundational to national security and U.S. technology leadership. Financial terms were not disclosed. The initiative builds on a previously announced Sovereign AI Operating System Reference Architecture between the two companies. In a separate announcement , Palantir expanded its partnership with Surf Air Mobility ( NYSE:SRFM ), committing additional engineering and go-to-market resources to accelerate the commercial rollout of SurfOS, an aviation operating system powered by Palantir's AIP and Foundry covering operators, owners, and brokers in private aviation. The expansion follows the commercial launch of BrokerOS and a contract with Wheels Up as its first enterprise customer. Financial terms were not disclosed either.
