How AI's threat to Salesforce, Microsoft is 'akin to the iPhone' Yahoo Finance Video and Brian Sozzi Wed, July 1, 2026 at 10:55 AM EDT MSFT GOOGL Bianco Research president Jim Bianco explains exactly how software names like Salesforce ( CRM ) and Microsoft ( MSFT ) are being threatened by AI adoption. What's the long-term prospect for AI is I won't need salesforce. I won't need Microsoft. I won't need office. I won't need windows. I won't need any of these products anymore. My computer will be a chatbot and I'll just ask it to do what I needed to do and it will do what I want. And in that case, the money we're going to spend on AI is going to come from the money we're spending on salesforce or we're spending on Microsoft and to some extent Google and the rest of them that offer us SAS products. It's akin to the iPhone. Why do you pay $1,100 for a phone that you don't even make a phone call on? Cuz it's a camera, it's a video recorder, it's a tape recorder, it's a GPS machine. It's 15 products at once that you don't buy anymore and you're happy to pay for them all in one product. Well, why am I going to pay a lot of money for AI? Because I won't have to buy all these other products. That's the challenge that SAS is going to have as we move forward. Sure, they might be oversold. Sure, there might be an opportunity short term on this thing. But right now, if AI is going to work, SAS isn't going to work. If SAS is going to work, then AI isn't going to work. And that's almost the bifurcation I see in this market.
