Alphabet's ( NASDAQ:GOOGL ) Google is buying internal business data from bankrupt Spirit Airlines for $10 million, saying it plans to use the material for product development and to train its AI models. Alphabet shares were down 0.27% premarket. Alphabet will acquire employee emails, Microsoft Teams messages, spreadsheets and calendars, along with marketing, productivity and operations data. The data will be de-identified before the sale closes and will contain no customer information or personally identifiable information. A US bankruptcy judge considers the sale at a hearing on Wednesday. Spirit also received a competing bid of $7.5 million from Mercor, an AI data company, so the court has two offers in front of it.
