Intel Stock Falls Over 4.8% as OpenShell Preserves an x86 Route Khac Phu Nguyen Mon, September 28, 2026 at 12:44 PM EDT 1 min read INTC NVDA This article first appeared on GuruFocus . Intel ( NASDAQ:INTC ), the chipmaker behind Xeon server processors, still has a path into Nvidia's ( NASDAQ:NVDA ) new AI agent safety platform: its OpenShell software can be extended to run on Intel processors. Shares fell about 4.8% to $117.07 at around 10:34 a.m. ET on September 28. OpenShell puts limits on what an AI agent can access and tracks its actions. Nvidia has tuned it for its Vera CPU, but the open source software can reach other chips, including Intel's. More than 100 organizations are working with the broader platform. That gives Intel a seat at the table, though it says nothing yet about who will supply the servers customers buy. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 7 Warning Signs with INTC. Is INTC fairly valued? Test your thesis with our free DCF calculator. The valuation raises the bar. The chart puts Intel's $117.07 share price 263.8% above its $32.18 GF Value estimate. OpenShell compatibility could help Xeon stay in the conversation; Intel still needs customer deployments and profitable sales to turn that opening into earnings.
