Combine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms. Whering is headquartered in London and has a global team of 19. Whering founder and CEO Bianca Rangecroft said: “We have access to such a vast amount of data that hasn’t existed before – not just what people buy, but what people actually wear, what they wear it with and how it makes them feel. For us, what’s next is helping people not just when they get dressed in the morning, but every time they interact with clothes, whether that’s buying, selling or styling – and we have the data to do that in an incredibly personalised way.” According to Whering, the next stage of development will focus on adding advanced AI functions designed to generate outfit suggestions tailored to variables such as mood, weather, and occasion. Planned updates will also include enhanced image processing tools that upgrade user-uploaded photos to retailer-quality standards, an option for users to extract and upload items directly from photos in their camera roll, and a virtual try-on feature. By implementing these enhancements, Whering aims to give users a clearer view of their own wardrobes and help them make more informed decisions about what to wear and what to purchase. Further investment will go towards deepening Whering’s approach to circular fashion by integrating expanded resale options within the platform. The app intends to connect the process of wearing, re-wearing, and reselling clothing into one digital environment, with the goal of encouraging more sustainable and thoughtful fashion consumption. David Benjamin of Google AI Futures Fund said: “Whering’s vision for a digital, AI-powered wardrobe that prioritises both personal style and the planet deeply resonates with us. We are thrilled to welcome them to Google AI Futures Fund and to support their journey in redefining the future of sustainable fashion through cutting-edge technology.” Since its inception, Whering has concentrated on encouraging users to make more intentional clothing decisions. The company states that 84% of its users report wearing their clothes more often and almost 70% say they have reduced fast fashion purchases since using the app. Whering plans to continue building on its core proposition by developing technology and partnerships that contribute to a more circular fashion ecosystem, supported by this latest funding round. eBay vice president and fashion global head Alexis Hoopes said: “At eBay we not only power recommerce, we empower the infrastructure that keeps fashion in rotation longer. This is exactly what Whering brings to industry and closets everywhere. The fashion industry’s buy, use, dispose model has been long overdue disruption, and with over 10 million users and digitised wardrobes, Whering is well positioned to be the catalyst.” Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
