ExxonMobil Moçambique has awarded around $1.1bn in pre-investment contracts for phase one of the Rovuma LNG project in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. The contracts for securing essential long-lead upstream equipment were awarded by ExxonMobil Moçambique on behalf of the Area 4 partners, ENH, CNPC, Eni, KOGAS and XRG. Combine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms. According to ExxonMobil, the awards represent an important step forward in the ongoing development of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, underscoring the Area 4 partners’ commitment as they move closer to a final investment decision (FID). The scope covers the engineering, procurement and fabrication of subsea production equipment, large-bore production valves and offshore export line pipe. The Rovuma LNG project involves bringing major offshore gas reserves in Area 4 into production and building an onshore LNG plant designed to produce around 18.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG. ExxonMobil Mocambique lead country manager Johanna Boothey said: “These contract awards represent another important step forward for the Rovuma LNG project and reflect the strong commitment of the Area 4 co-venturers to responsibly develop Mozambique’s world-class natural gas resources. “By securing critical long-lead equipment, we are positioning the project for efficient execution and supporting the long-term economic potential of this strategic investment for Mozambique.” The biggest award went to OneSubsea UK and OneSubsea, with local participation through Aker Solutions Mozambique. This work covers engineering, procurement, and the fabrication and manufacture of subsea production systems, associated controls and umbilicals. Additional contracts have been issued to several companies. Advanced Technology Valve will handle the engineering, procurement, fabrication, testing and delivery of large-bore production valves. Corinth Pipeworks Pipe Industry Single Member will manufacture, coat, test, preserve and store submerged arc-welded line pipe. Sumitomo Corporation of America will manufacture, coat, test, preserve and store seamless line pipe. Zhejiang Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals will manufacture and supply mechanically lined pipe, weld-overlay products, induction bends and associated line pipe system components. Collectively, the agreement allows vendors to start producing high-volume materials and long‑lead, specialised equipment. Placing these orders ahead of the FID streamlines the delivery schedule and improves confidence that essential infrastructure will be ready when required. Earlier this month, ExxonMobil Mocambique issued a letter of intent to McDermott Energy Solutions (UK) covering limited engineering and procurement services for the continuation of the Rovuma LNG phase one project. DYAX 전담 분석

ExxonMobil's $1.1 billion pre-investment contract acts as a direct benefit to the expansion of oil and natural gas infrastructure, leading to revenue growth in the energy equipment and pipe manufacturing sectors. As advance orders for core equipment proceed ahead of the Final Investment Decision (FID), the order backlogs of related companies will significantly increase.

If the project's Final Investment Decision is smoothly approved in the future, the strength of related equipment suppliers will continue, but performance shocks are a concern in the event of geopolitical risks in Mozambique or project delays. Key monitoring indicators are FID approval and order announcements by participating companies.
