Meta hires MongoDB CEO to run new 'Meta Enterprise' platform Yahoo Finance Video Mon, September 28, 2026 at 10:04 AM EDT META MDB MSFT ORCL The 8:30 Hosts Julie Hyman, Jake Conley, and Pras Subramanian discuss what we know so far about Meta's ( META ) new enterprise unit, which MongoDB ( MDB ) CEO Dev Ittycheria will be running. there's some news coming just coming out from Meta. Um as if it hasn't been busy enough that they're introducing this new Meta enterprise platform and as part of that, I mean, Meta has been hiring like crazy as we know, right? Um Alexander Wang, sort of the prominent uh persona behind the muse launch. And the head of the Super Intelligence labs. Right, exactly. So now, Meta is hiring C J Desai, who is the CEO of Mongo DB to run this new Meta enterprise platform. Uh Mongo DB shares by the way are falling on this. Um but as we know, Meta hasn't really been in, you know, they haven't been in this business as much. And so now it looks like that they are going to be bringing their agents um to the enterprise as part of this effort. Yeah, that's right. Uh to your point, we've always kind of thought about meta as a uh, you know, consumer facing business. Now, clearly where is the money in AI right now? It's in the enterprise application. It's in getting and winning enterprise contracts and selling into that business. It's where you see AWS, you know, Microsoft, Oracle, all focusing their efforts. Meta's trying to get into that with a very strong hire, the CEO of Mongo DB who I want to point out was also the, if I, let me see if I get this right, the president and CEO of Service Now. So this guy's got a serious tenure. He was the CEO of Ser Oh yeah. COO of Service Now, he's got a serious tenure. And again, this comes to Mark Zuckerberg's point that he said in interviews recently, Yeah, we spent a ton of money on people. We spent a ton of money hiring. Look how it's paying off. To your point, Alexander Wang who was a very expensive with the application or the uh acquisition, excuse me, of Scale AI. That's now turned into muse.
